The Gin Daisy has seen a few forms, traditionally a gin sour with the addition of soda water or a dash of grenadine. This version from the mind of Bec at Darwin Distilling Co. is a refreshing, sweet twist on the classic, with floral Creme de Violette and icing sugar. Highlighting the floral notes of Darwin Gin's water lily and Kakadu Plum botanicals, this is a thirst-quencher to rival the humble homemade lemonade.
INGREDIENTS
- 30ml Darwin Distilling Co. Darwin Gin
- Juice of 1/2 lemon (Meyers are best)
- 1/4 teaspoon icing sugar
- 15ml Crème de Violette
- 15ml D.O.M Benedictine
- Soda water
GARNISH
- Fresh mint leaves
METHOD
Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass over ice. Pour into a chilled highball glass filled with ice, top with soda water, and garnish with a sprig of mint. Refreshing!
